A long-time fan of Tuckerman Brewery, I was fortunate to strike up a conversation with the marketing team a few years ago and to this day they are on of my longest client relationships!

Over the last year, they have started to pivot towards creating new original label artwork for their cans instead of using older black and white photos of Mount Washington with a yellow accent bar along the top and their older logo spanning the label width. Some of the update labels have included curated illustrations & layouts to fit the type of beer in that can, not just a one-size-fits-all approach.

Some labels had also featured paintings from another local artist that they wanted to keep but wanted a refreshed layout and typography that enhanced the current artwork. As most designers, I spent many hours collectively looking at fonts that would best fit each piece of art plus play into the beer name/type of beer in the can – after all, it has to be cohesive… I heard it makes the beer taste even better!

Beers always taste better after a sunrise hike. Afterall, it’s 5 O’clock somewhere – right?
